Question

  1. Gordon Brown, i want to know why when i spend fifteen thousand pounds on a machine i have to pay VAT. on it when its secondhand?  I bought it and im not VAT registered so cannot claim it back, but if i sell it back to the company i bought it from I cannot charge vat on it as im not registered. Taken into account that the vat has already been paid on this when sold from new. the company will sell it again charging VAT again. I thought vat was supposed to be a value added tax charged on new goods but it seems a scam has been going on for years and the treasury has been taken everyone for a ride. It seems that if a product is sold time and time again it will over take the initial price in VAT that it was worth in the first place. How can this be right its a con thats gone unnoticed.
